ALDER STAINS
Print Collection | Click here for more information about this finish
Alder, or Red Alder as it is often called, grows in the Pacific Coast areas of the US and Canada. Alder has a fine, smooth, straight grain with random mineral streaks and mild color variation. Alder tends to be 'amber' with age. Although it is classified as a hardwood species, it is softer than woods such as oak and maple. Alder trees are smaller in diameter and height and have a higher concentration of branches, resulting in more character pin knots. Also, due to the smaller tree size, Alder veneer panels will show a higher quantity of 'flitches' or seams, per face. Pacific Crest Industries takes great care in combining high quality select hardwoods with the best finishing techniques. Slight color inconsistency between the finished product and an existing sample may occur due to the inherent graining, density, and raw base color of the selected hardwood. This is not considered a defect, but merely the result of applying pigmented colors on natural woods. |

CHERRY STAINS Print Collection | Click here for more information about this finish American Cherry is a deciduous tree growing in scattered forests primarily in the eastern US. Cherry is a light pinkish brown tone in its natural state, but darkens with age, taking on its own unique color character. Neither the rate nor resulting color of the aging process is entirely predictable. It will be more evident when using a natural finish, as opposed to a pigmented stain. Grain characteristics such as fine pin holes and pitch pockets will be evident, along with mild color variation. The heartwood of cherry varies from rich red to reddish brown. The sapwood is light brown to light tan. The wood has a fine, uniform straight grain, and satiny-smooth texture. |

Maple is one of the harder and denser of the common cabinet hardwood species. Maple has some color variation, primarily creamy white with a slight reddish brown tinge. Even with its smooth fine grain; mineral streaks are common and appear darker when stained. Due to natural resins, Maple has a tendency to 'yellow' or 'amber' with age and light exposure. A mottled or blotchy look may be evident when mid and darker toned stain colors are applied. Pacific Crest Industries takes great care in combining high quality select hardwoods with the best finishing techniques. Slight color inconsistency between the finished product and an existing sample may occur due to the inherent graining, density, and raw base color of the selected hardwood. AFRICAN MAHOGANY STAINS Print Collection | Click here for more information about this finish African Mahogany or Khaya grows in the tropical areas of west, central, and east Africa. QTR SAWN WHITE OAK STAINS Print Collection | Click here for more information about this finish White Oak ranges from light tan or pale yellow brown to pale or dark brown. Due to quarter sawn milling processes in which the line of cut is perpendicular to the growth rings, Quarter Sawn White Oak is mostly straight-grained with a medium to coarse texture, and exhibits long light-colored 'flecks' that can run in random directions. White Oak therefore has more figure. Variations in color and grain may be significant and should be expected. Pacific Crest Industries takes great care in combining high quality select hardwoods with the best finishing techniques. Slight color inconsistency between the finished product and an existing sample may occur due to the inherent graining, density, and raw base color of the selected hardwood. Pacific Crest Industries takes great care in combining high quality select hardwoods with the best finishing techniques. Slight color inconsistency between the finished product and an existing sample may occur due to the inherent graining, density, and raw base color of the selected hardwood.
